It is Jersey Shore time for me. I am here in historic Elberon, New Jersey, one block from the Atlantic ocean enjoying family , friends, and cuisine, while we shop until we drop and try some new kosher restaurants. The devastation left from hurricane Sandy is still evident in the missing boardwalk and bulldozers, along with new construction that litters the shoreline.
My sister just launched her new website http://www.mouthfullcookies.com and is now selling gluten free, dairy free wonderful tasting cookies on line. It has taken her about 2 years to create, recipe test and finally bake and launch the site. I ordered 4 dozen last night to be shipped back to my home. They come in convenient gift packs with poems included. Is this a shameless bit of advertising? You bet it is. The cookies are really good.
Wednesday we spent the day in Manhattan and rather then drive back to the ‘shore’ during rush hour, we made reservations at a popular steak house Wolf and Lamb at 7:00pm. The menu was appetizing and concise. We walked in and the smoky atmosphere in a brick walled warehouse setting gave a hint of the great real charcoal grill they used to cook the steak. The steak were flavorful, soft and cooked to order with true flame grilled taste. If you are looking for kosher, steakhouse dining, Wolf and Lamb served a savory dinner with wonderful light dessert. The dessert special was a coconut flan with pineapple relish on top, just tasty and smooth, greatly appreciated by us two lactose intolerant sisters.
